Hismanal was the only drug that helped me with my allergies. Is there something comparable that will help. Now I take Reactine but it only does part of the job. I think sometimes they just take a drug off the market because it does work so well. Is there something on the market that works as well as Hismanal did ? Please reply

Astemizole was a great antihistamine drug – wonderfully effective and with very few side effects compared with the competition. I am now stuck like John without a decent antihistamine to use.
The few severe (heart related) side effects that have been reported are rare and easily prevented by avoiding other drugs and foods that are known to cause problems.

Hismanal and seldane were the only ones that ever worked for me….both off the market. Just my luck.
