What Makes Paxil dangerous

What is Paxil used for?

Paxil is an antidepressant drug.

Why was Paxil Recalled (or why should it) ?

Not recalled yetPaxil has been under a lot of scrutiny ever since an FDA issued a warning of it’s ineffectiveness. Despite the fact that more than half of the drug company studies through the 90s showed no more effectiveness than a sugar pill, the use of antidepressants like Paxil continued to flourish..

In 2003, British regulators issued a warning to doctors to avoid prescribing Paxil to children because of new data linking the antidepressant to suicide attempts.

There is a threefold increase of suicide because of the use of Paxi. Paxil has been linked to side effects that some people claim was allowed to continue because the company manipulated data to diminish the appearance of suicide risk amongst patients and the FDA.

What Makes Paxil a dangerous Drug ( side effects):

  • suicide
  • Paxil can cause dependence and withdrawal symptoms.
  • It just doesn’t work.

I think that the idea of Paxil being ineffective is inane…I have been on Paxil for 6 years now, and taking it has eliminated my panic disorder…Paxil may be addictive, but it is only because it helps you overcome many anxiety disorders, ones that can paralyze your normal way of life.

I’m in the process of weaning away from paxil after about 10 years use. i used it because my doctor at the time I started said use it. I am having some ‘different’ reactions and when they happen I just go to my recliner and set it out I just need some help with knowing when i can stop completely

My wife was put on Paxil at the age of 12 and was on it for 5 years. They gave it to her because she was having panic attacks at that time. Her doctors continued to put her on other similar SSRI’s all the way up til now at the age of 27. She has had anxiety the whole time. Now we’ve discovered they are the CAUSE of her anxiety. Do not be deceived. These drugs will ruin your life. My wife has nothing but problems for 15 years. They robbed her of her adolescence. Now she has finally weaned off SSRI drugs altogether and forever. To Julie’s comment above, it is not the anxiety that will paralyze you, it is the Paxil. You are being deceived by your doctor and big pharma. If you are taking Paxil or other SSRIs, get off of them as fast as possible, but do it in a controlled manner. And find a doctor that doesn’t just automatically defend SSRI drugs. IF they do, they are being paid by big pharma. Count on it.

I have been diagnosed as having bipolar d/o and major depression. And after trying MANY antidepressants over the years, I have to say that Paxil was and still is, the only one that worked for me!! I have now been on it for over 2 years and I have to say that it has literally been a lifesaver!! I don’t know what I would do if they would ever recall this drug.

Paxil caused a friend of mine memory loss and speech problems. This drug has way too many side effects to be considered useful for many.
