Well the truth is we really don’t know.

Most of the testing done on a medication prior to approval is a joke. Most medications have never been properly studied, in fact a majority of all prescription medication studies have fewer than 3000 people participating in the study. There is also the added problem that most of these people are not tracked on a long term basis. In fact, there is no real organized system of tracking the side effects associated with prescription medications.

Things are so crazy that, in order for a drug to be called unsafe, there has to be a 95% certanity that there is a problem, before the FDA will take action.
