When ever possible, the best approach to staying healthy is eating a balanced diet and going natural. Remember medications can be beneficial for people who have health problems, but when the drug companies try to expand their medications to include treating healthy people, then they have gone to far.

Did you know that there isn’t a whole lot of evidence that cholesterol lowering statins do anything to prevent heart problems? For Men over 65 that have heart disease, there may be a few benefits to taking cholesterol lowering drugs. But when you look at the real numbers, if you take 50 people without heart disease and treat them with statins for 5 years, it ends up helping only 1 out of the 50. And if you dig deeper into the studies, there is no evidence that these medication even work on women.

With so little evidence, it really makes one wonder why these companies are allowed to sell there products. When you figure in the high number of side effects that most of these medicines can cause, it really makes you question whether it’s really worth the risk.

So what help prevent heart disease?

  1. Reduce Stress
  2. Eat a Mediterranean diet
  3. Regular Exercise
  4. Eat Garlic
  5. Drink Green Tea

These 5 things are 3 times more likely to help than most medications in healthy people.
