Chicory
Chicory has many of the properties of dandelion.This is an herb that has been well known since ancient Romain timesĀ as both a food and blood purifier. People often use it to make a Chicory tea which helps get rid of phlegm from the stomach and is also usefuli treatingĀ upset stomachs.
Chicory is also good for:
- It Is useful in uric acid conditions of gout, rheumatics and joint stiffness.
- It can be used for boils and sores.
- Some people recommend the tea for gallstones.
The roots are used as a tonic , laxative and diuretic and to treat skin eruptions and fevers . Root decoctions were once taken to mitigate jaundice, gout, rheumatic complaints, loss of appetite, dyspepsia, and cancer.
